Born in Winnipeg, MB, Andrew has dedicated over 20 years of his life to fine-tuning his craft and developing leadership skills on and off the football field.He started his journey in football by playing for the Vancouver Island Raiders in the junior league. During this time, he won three National Championships and set new records by breaking numerous CJFL records. After that, he took an uncommon path by moving from junior league to the CFL, where he became a starting running back right after his first year, thus breaking the ratio.In 2011, Andrew emerged as a star with the Lions and was instrumental in leading his team to recover from a 1-6 start to secure a spot in the 2011 Grey Cup Championship game. He and the Lions emerged victorious against his hometown Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Andrew was honored with the title of the game's Most Outstanding Canadian.In 2016, Andrew signed with his hometown Bombers and played an important role in establishing a winning culture and dominance on the field that was second to none. In the 2019 season, he became #1 in CFL history for yards from scrimmage and helped lead his team to their first Grey Cup victory in 29 years. He was named Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian, which was a first in CFL history. After taking a year off due to COVID, the Bombers continued their dominance and won their 2nd Grey Cup in a row.In 2022, Andrew and the Bombers were unable to reach an agreement on a contract, so he signed with the Toronto Argonauts. He played a crucial role in leading the Argos to the Grey Cup finals, where they defeated the Bombers, Harris's hometown team. This was Harris's 3rd championship win in a row.Andrew Harris is widely considered to be one of the greatest running backs in the history of the CFL. He holds the CFL record for the most career rushing yards, with 10,151 yards, as well as the most career yards from scrimmage by a Canadian, with 15,554 yards.After retiring in 2024, he took on the role of head of football operations for the Vancouver Island Raiders. His goal is to rebuild the program and restore it to its former greatness. He hopes to have a positive impact on the lives of young athletes, just as the program had a significant impact on his own life.Andrew has always taken the reality of life after football seriously. While playing, he also stayed involved in business off the field. For the past 6 years, he held a part-time position with AEP. Now that he's retired from football, he plans to bring the same dedication, passion, leadership, and winning attitude to AEP.
