My role at Pinion was focussed around providing insight into the large amount of data produced by running an advertising network. Using packages such as Hadoop, Hive, Graphite and custom data processing and collection tools written in Ruby and node.js I helped provide the basis for a data processing and collection system.

As a Software Engineer at Westfield, I worked primarily on the search systems underlying their e-commerce platform as well as on the numerous moving parts which made up Westfield’s architecture. The environment featured several Ruby on Rails applications, a Postgresql database, Redis and Resque for key value storage and queuing and Solr as a search.
