As a Member of the Board of Advice at The University of Sydney Business School's Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies, I played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world sustainable business practices. My contributions focused on enhancing the School's strategic direction, curriculum development, and engagement with the business community, grounded in the Sustainable Development Goals and leading practices on sustainable development.Leveraging my extensive experience in environmental law, sustainability, and not-for-profit leadership, I advised on integrating sustainable business practices and circular economy principles into the curriculum. This involved collaborating with faculty to identify key issues for inclusion in the development of pedagogy, preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of sustainable business management in the transport and logistics sectors.I facilitated partnerships between the Business School and industry leaders, including NGOs, government bodies, and corporations, to offer students hands-on experience through internships, case studies, and live projects, including the workshop around the 'Good Life Goals' delivered to all BCSDA members. These partnerships enriched the students' learning experience and provided valuable insights into the evolving needs of the business world, particularly in the areas of transport and logistics.Another key area of my involvement was encouraging the School's research agenda towards high-impact areas such as sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and innovation in business models for the circular economy. I supported collaborative research projects that brought together academics, industry experts, and community leaders to address pressing environmental and social challenges in the transport and logistics industry.
