As the New York Racing Association's Sr. Vice President of Racing & Operations, I oversee both the day-to-day management and the strategic planning of NYRA's horse racing business as well as many of its supporting departments.In this role, I provide strategic direction and coaching to nearly 500 direct and indirect reports throughout the racing, operations, security, cleaning, pari-mutuel wagering, parking and programs business units.I work in close partnership with horsemen and horsewomen in New York and beyond to put on an industry-leading racing program encompassing a year-round schedule.

As the Sr. Director of Racing Operations, I assumed day-to-day control of Canterbury Park's pari-mutuel racing business as well as its supporting departments.In this role, I provide management, strategic direction and coaching to approximately 200 direct and indirect reports and budget, forecast and manage P&L statements for the seven Racing Operations departments totaling total departmental.Additionally, I implement and refined multiple strategies that have significantly increased off-track wagering on Canterbury Park’s racing product resulting in total growth of more than 170% ($23mm in handle) over an eight-year period.Other important components of this role include regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and strategic partnerships with Minnesota horsemen as well as the Minnesota Racing Commission, and the creativity required to assist in the creation and development of the Minnesota Racehorse Engagement Project which is leading Canterbury Park's racing program into a new era of fan engagement.
