About Andrew Ramos

Started working in the fields picking blueberries as a teenager. Moved up to pushing a broom in the factory, and working at grocery stores as a bag boy, all while going to community college. Eventually graduated from SJSU with a BS in MIS. Worked in management at Amazon, and inherited the worst-performing team in the building. By the time I changed positions a year later, I had the best-performing team in the building. Decided to pivot my career to IT and took a pay cut to do contracting helpdesk work. Turned that into an FTE with FormFactor. Continued working hard and landed a role in the cyber security team. All along the way volunteered for numerous projects and gained industry certs. In addition to that, I configured a home lab, managed two servers at home, and set up multiple APs. routers, modems, security cameras, ran network cables, etc on my own. Configured multiple VLANs and helped secure my home physically and virtually. I also dabble in construction and have been house hacking since I was a teenager. I renovated a studio apartment and managed multiple tenants for many years. I enjoy video games, working out, riding motorcycles, and traveling in my free time.
