I joined Generation Citizen as its first-ever Director of Policy and Advocacy (P&A). In my capacity as Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy, I'm responsible for leading our national P&A team and establishing a national strategy of policy and advocacy for the entire organization, focusing on thought leadership, coalition building, strengthening youth civic engagement, and influencing state-level civics education policy (legislative, administrative, and commission-based) as the key levers for systems change.

Drum Major Institute carries forward the social change legacy of Dr. King by promoting economic justice, dismantling structural racism, and advancing an innovative civil rights agenda. Originally established by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and attorney Harry Wachtel as the Drum Major Foundation, DMI was relaunched as the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy in 1999 by Martin Luther King III, Bill Wachtel, and Ambassador Andrew Young. Our theory of change is built on King's four-step strategy of public education, leadership development, networking and collaborations, and direct action.
