Currently working from the EMEA offices at Coolham, I provide support to our EMEA customers for the Niagara framework. Support for the framework can vary from helping with a number BMS protocols, connection to local and cloud service or reporting bugs to the development team. With access to a number of systems I am able to keep up to date with new features, conduct research and set up test cases to help with customer issues.

I provide 1st to 3rd line support while managing a small but growing team, providing rapid remote support for a host of services for the end customer.These services include:• Helpdesk management.• Server support – 2008 to 2016 including SBS, AD, Hyper V.• Exchange Support – On Site and Microsoft 365.• Computer support – Microsoft and Apple. • Phone Support – NEC and Panasonic systems. • Network and Internet support – Routers and SwitchesWe are the first line of support for our customers with any issues they may have while also maintaining backups, performing preventative maintenance, managing projects and suggesting any improvements that could be made to the infrastructure.

This position is currently being carried out alongside a small team of highly trained computer engineers, my main responsibilities are administering Active Directory, Exchange 2003, Live Communication Sever, WSUS, San and switch fabric, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Veritas Netbackup, Citrix, Cisco IP Telephony, Apple Mac OSX and managing new projects. I also provide support to over 120 users in various UK, US offices and remote locations worldwide, which includes effective management of the helpdesk system and distributing workloads respectively, building and upgrading hardware, ongoing support for Windows and Macintosh Server and Desktop hardware, operating systems and software, maintaining printers, backups and the network whilst making sure all corporate procedures are followed. I also have a basic knowledge of Novell.

The formal apprenticeship has been undertaken within a multidisciplined team of engineers, designing and producing a series of ‘ruggedised’ computers for military applications. The machines are developed from a clean sheet of paper, they are built to withstand the harsh environments and extreme operations demanded by Armed Service use
