Mrt ManagerBombardier Oct 2013 - Oct 2017London, United KingdomIn this role I managed Bombardier’s Mobile Response Team for the business aircraft division. I was based at the Regional Support Office at Farnborough Airport and reported directly to the customer support leadership team in Montreal. The MRT consists of a team of EASA B1/B2 licenced engineers based in the UK, Germany and Hong Kong.The teams primary function is AOG recovery for Bombardier’s customers worldwide, but also provides flight following, entry into service support and engineering provision at major events such as the Olympics and World Cup. I had a leading role in the integration of a newly acquired line maintenance organisation into the wider customer support structure. As team manager I had budgetary responsibility for several cost centres totaling approximately $6,500,000. I provided strategic and managerial oversight and liaison between the Part 145 organisation in Belfast and head office in Montreal. In addition to this role I also had financial and contractual oversight of 3 unscheduled maintenance teams (UMTs) located in Moscow, Nice and London providing line maintenance support for our largest fleet customer. Early in my tenure I successfully implemented a major initiative to enable the MRT to offer a parts supply and handling capability which removed a significant logistical burden from our customers and was very positively received.I achieved significant increases in revenue for the MRT and considerable reductions in outgoings for all my cost centres whilst maintaining world class quality standards and high workforce morale. As well as financial and operational management I also ensured that the team held the highest standards of technical training and ability as befitting an OEM, and were fully up to date with all emerging technological advances within the company’s product range. Both myself and the team held excellent customer facing skills and were used to dealing with high pressure situations. -

I was regularly involved with return to/from lease activities coordinating engine and airframe releases and tech records audits to facilitate onward lease placements. In addition to base maintenance activities I was regularly responsible for organizing away from base working parties supporting both airline and VIP operators with AOG and structural repair requirements. I also chaired the daily production meeting with all department heads and senior management in attendance.
