A UK based role running a program of contracts in Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands. Full P&L responsibility with an annual budget of £11.8M. Direct reporting to GM and the Board of Directors.Key Responsibilities• Stakeholder management focusing on both government organisations and end users.• Remote management of 5 site managers who are responsible for a team of 300 personnel and 9 different projects.• Recruitment and ongoing management, scheduling and performance management of all group staff.• Bid and manage all organic growth opportunities within the group.• Write bid documentation for new opportunities and supply market and financial data for pricing purposes.• Manage and audit budget, KPI’s and contract performance.• Training and management of the company health, safety, and welfare procedure and the health and well being of all employees within the group.

Kandahar Airfield

Based on Camp KAF near Kandahar and managing all contracts in an area which included Camp Bastion in the Helmand province and Camp Hero in the Kandahar province.Key Responsibilities• P&L reports for all projects in Southern Afghanistan.• Direct management of 4 major projects and a selection of minor works.• Setting targets for service management staff, maintaining project plans, and ensuring 100% adherence to the UK and US ethics guideline and regulations.• Establishing an efficiency agenda through all controlled projects and reducing overheads to exceeding budget performance by 3 percent.• Managing both local and satellite contracts utilising technology to bring a distant team together.• Establish a competitive environment and impart clear performance requirements.• Business and sales development within G3 Systems major customer groups.• Promoting a health and safety agenda, conducting health and safety training programs and achieving zero injuries over 2014 and 2015.• Mobilisation of major contracts across Afghanistan ensuring that IOC and FOC targets are achieved, and that customer confidence and satisfaction is high.

Kandahar, Afghanistan

Management of the hard and soft maintenance teams of the NATO Medical Treatment Facility, a 78-bed emergency medical hospital in Kandahar.Key Responsibilities• Liaise with key stakeholders from NATO, the NSPA and the United States Navy (USN). Ensure that the needs of both the building owner (NATO) and the building tenant’s (USN) requirements are met.• Incorporate different National standards and regulations within maintenance routines.• Establish CAFM software databases and utilise the program to effectively manage all planned and reactive maintenance requirements.• Ensure stringent KPI parameters were adhered to and keep all necessary audit materials.• Provide 100% of hospital facilities to the end user including oxygen generation and distribution, surgical sterilising facility, emergency electrical power and HVAC despite the challenges of being in an inhospitable environment.• Education and enforcement of the comprehensive “Take 2” Health and Safety program resulting in no work-related accidents or injuries during 2012 and 2013.• Management, training, and motivation of an international team.• Promoting customer satisfaction as a key company goal achieving numerous citations from customers for the efficient and effective maintenance of the facility.

Kandahar, Afghanistan

• Lead a team of 40 electricians in the construction of a hardened hospital in the middle of a conflict zone to UK NHS HTM’s and standards.• Ensured electrical and national health and safety regulations and initiatives were followed by all staff.• Disseminating construction drawings, installation instructions and confirming installation is conducted to required standards.• Electrical inspection and testing of the hospital power and data systems.
