June 11th - Sept 2012Seconded to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) as the health and safety advisor for the Hyde Park Olympic venue during the period of venue construction, handover, operation and eventually handover to the principal contractor. Working as part of the venue management team and alongside the site/project management the role required a robust and solution driven approach to providing advice that was tailored to a safety first approach to all aspects of the venue operations including construction, transport, logistics, workforce and spectator safety whilst ensuring the workforce and contractors maintained safe practice throughout their operations in line with their Risk Assessments, Method Statements and current UK legislation including CDM. Aspects of the role include the maintaining of the venue Health and Safety file, completion of daily quality inspections, attending meetings and liaison with the principal contractors management team, review of contractors risk assessment and method statements along with observing their operations, management of the fire safety team and first aid requirements along with the investigation of incidents when required.TrainerDelivering H&S awareness courses designed to meet the clients needs, these courses are current and compliant with all current regulations and the HASAW 74. Such courses include Safety Harness awareness, Work at Height, First Aid, Risk Assessment and Management.Delivery of the Site Safety Plus range of courses that include SMSTS, SMSTS Refresher, SSSTS and SSSTS refresher courses ensuring all course content is relevent and inline with current regulations and guidelines.
