I am a proven leader with experience in local government and a Scottish Government funded not-for-profit environmental organisation with policy experience covering net zero and climate change, circular economy, waste and recycling. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the waste and resource management industry and 11 years in a leading technical and policy role at national level, I am adept in managing complex stakeholder ecosystems, collaborating with internal and external partners, writing and editing complex technical reports and creating and managing strategies at national and organisation level. I have direct experience in local and national government, working with Chief Executives, Senior Managers, Technical Managers, elected Councillors and trade bodies, with the aim of improving and developing services.I have experience in writing corporate plans, annual operating plans, and I’m an experienced programme and project manager. I am a natural leader with the ability to adapt different leadership styles and have a proven track record of managing high-performing teams with specialist technical knowledge. Working with government, industry, regulators and NGOs my pragmatic approach has been key to building trust, consensus and progress. I am a committed environmentalist with a personal interest in climate change and the use of materials in society.
