Andy Dolan is a security engineer with experience in several programming languages and a variety of projects, ranging from big data to blockchain. Following three years of study to earn his bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Andy earned his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University in the Spring of 2020, conducting research on IoT security. Driven by a bootstrap mentality, Andy strives to understand as many pieces of a system or application as possible, from the ground up. To that end, Andy holds the belief that security must be considered at every step of production, and should never come as an afterthought. In any project, Andy prioritizes cleanliness and ensures maintainability and clarity, both of design rationale and implementation. Andy has worked extensively in team-based environments, and coordinates well with others to reach consensus and resolve conflicts. Andy strongly believes in the notion that writing software is just like writing an argumentative essay; syntax and grammar are sufficient for achieving functionality, but style and convention allow the author to deliver that functionality with voice and expression, in a more compelling and efficient way.
