In my role as a Benefit Assessor I am to be responsible for the efficient and accurate verification, determination, assessment and payment of claims, ensuring the efficient administration of the Benefits Service. To ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in a polite and efficient manner and all communications with customers are clear, concise and in line with legislative requirements and Council procedures. To liaise with other sections in the Council and outside agencies and organisations concerning benefit matters.Over the past six months I have become fully conversant with the new Atlas Verification Process, both Phase one and two.

In my role as Supervisor of Millennium Car Park, I was responsible for all aspects of customer service and deal with customers both face to face and over the telephone on a daily basis. I handled customer queries and complaints and make quick decisions in difficult situations. Every day I compiled regular reports from information taken from the computer, based on the previous days trading, which is sent to head office. It was essential that I communicated information to my staff, customers and line managers clearly and concisely. I handled cash daily and was responsible for ensuring the safety of transit to the bank. I was responsible for managing a team of 6 staff and incorporates two car parks in Blackburn. I had to ensure adequate staffing levels within a given budget and managing sickness and holiday entitlement. I also had responsibilities for hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and disciplining members of the team.

Carrying out regular patrols of the car park. Health and Safety checks, cleaning, customer service, cash handling and banking. Dealing with enquiries in person and over the telephone.

Leading parties, supervising the soft play equipment, organizing activities, cleaning, general bar duties including cleaning, serving customers handling cash.

Burnley

Responsible for six members of staff, I was responsible for organizing rotas, ensuring a safe level of staffing and adequate members of staff on duty to complete the party bookings successfully, within a PALM budget. I also regularly ordered stock for party bags and confectionary for sale in the Wacky Warehouse.

As a Playleader I was responsible for planning and delivering a wide variety of Play activities for children aged 5-13 years of age in safe, secure and stimulating Play environments .in the Burnley and Padiham areas.

Burnley, Lancashire

worked as Publicity Assistant for Mid Pennine Arts in Burnley. This saw me carry out a wide range of duties including arrange advertising, liaising with printers, members of the press, customers, artists etc. I was also responsible for writing press releases and copy for the company's brochure and producing in-house publicity. I was responsibly for overseeing the printing processes from its start, through the design process to the finished article. I managed the mailing list and put in place systems for updating and maintaining it. Alongside this I was responsible for distributing publicity and putting together displays to publicize gallery shows. In the summer of 1995 I coordinated the Seven Days of Sound Music Festival in Hyndburn. This saw me recruit and organize a group of volunteers which became the Steering group. Hold regular meetings, produce agendas and minutes. Set budgets for individual events and ensure they were adhered to. I was also responsible for hiring artists, ordering equipment and hiring necessary staff and attractions.
