As a leader in the Technology Audit team my role was to support the establishment of an industry leading Internal Audit function in preparation for Old Mutual Wealth's separation from its parent company, and its eventual transition to becoming Quilter. I led various improvement activities including defining the tech audit operating model and recruiting new team members, developing and piloting Data Analytics capabilities and presenting outcomes and insights to the Audit Committee, and creating the basis for our audit planning approach, including the framework for managing and risk assessing the "Audit Universe". I also planned, oversaw and landed significant audit reviews including Cyber Security, External Applications and IT Operations, reported on important incidents and delivered root cause analysis reports, as well as collaborating with my business audit colleagues on their own reviews by assessing the technology dependencies they relied upon.
