About Andy Mori

I graduated from Langara College with a Bachelor in Recreation Management to help in my qualifications. As a former after school programmer for School District 43 in Coquitlam, I have what it takes to oversee and supervise children’s programs by being inclusive and inquisitive.Along with that my job experience at several Parks Board community Centres, including the False Creek Community Centre where the waterpark is, would be a great assistance to you. As a former after school programmer for School District 43 in Coquitlam I have what it takes to oversee and supervise. As after school programmer for in Coquitlam, I hired instructors and recruited volunteers. This was a first-time free offering to poor and disadvantaged families. In consultation with stakeholders, it was determined where arts and crafts, sports and science programs went. Starting multiple registration sites, dealing with instructor absences, getting participant evaluations and ensuring fun were rewarding. Holding meetings with the school board, youth outreach and family agencies like PLEA helped get information on needs and challenges. I had written many project proposals for grants, gotten sponsorships, and in-kind donations. My experience with teaching the arts to children has also given me the opportunity to work with children from diverse backgrounds including those with disabilities. At Ray-Cam Community Centre I worked with Daniel, a child with autism spectrum disorder, making stop-motion animations. From that he learned how to share and socialize with others. At False Creek Community Centre I worked at the waterpark and am familiar with the schools nearby that this centre touches on.Thanks to my work at Vancouver Parks Board and public schools over the last 16 years I feel that I have the life and work experience to take on this position. I wish you all the best in your search and thanks for making time. If you have any questions, please call.
