I spent 5 years as a mechanical maintenance tech at US Steel. There I repaired and maintained various industrial equipment including roll wheel pulverizers, conveyor systems, compressors, steam systems, and piping systems. I was also promoted to a supervisory position which included scheduling, planning, leading a maintenance crew, and outage logistics planning. I then was offered a position at a power plant peaking station as an operator/ technician. I was also responsible for environmental compliance data collection and submittal. I ran the fire protection program and also performed plant administration tasks. I understand the value of teamwork and a positive attitude. I believe that that safety is not only a personal responsibility but a culture that must be observed at home and at work.
