Internet Investigator
CurrentThe RoleWorking as a proactive member of the investigatory team to support the strategic objectives. Responsible for the detection, investigation and protection of clients Intellectual Property whether physical or digital as directed by the Investigations Manager.Key responsibilities• Assessment and Investigation of individuals and entitiesresponsible for illegal or infringing activity related to Intellectual Property• Gather evidence/intelligence ethically and in accordance withcriminal procedure rules and the relevant legislation, policy, protocols and codes of practice• Liaise and participate with police LEA led operations. Complete tasks necessary for the successful implementation of the operation, case progression, briefings, seizure of evidence and support prosecutions whilst managing risks and acting in accordance with legislation and company procedure• Coordinating multi-region investigations, assisting case progression and liaison• Producing intelligence with particular emphasis on investigations and Landscape• Attend court proceedings and give evidence where required• Undertake directed and intrusive surveillance in accordance with the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), ensuring all the activities undertaken are in compliance with the legislation. Manage and conduct covert investigations and assets as directed • Work with internal teams and independently whilst contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of organisational objectives• Liaise with clients and industry partners in aiming to prevent, disrupt and deter infringement and other related illegal activity • Conduct training and presentations to educate audiences in the issues relevant to clients and Intellectual Property
