Ensure staff are kept up to date with policy and procedure developments and promote staff involvement in local decisions.Health, Safety, Risk Management - Ensure staff operate in a safe working environment and corporate responsibilities are met in regard to H&S legislation, undertake H&S premises inspections ensuring identified issues are dealt with expediently.External Relationships - Attend/chair internal and external meetings with the wider health economy and other emergency services. Ensure information is prepared and presented accurately and comprehensively. Develop and maintain good working relationships with other emergency services, hospitals, and public sector agencies.

Provider of expert advice to all levels of management on both real time and projected performance issues. Produce daily performance report for Trust Gold and the Assistant Director of Operations advising on required actions. Maintain strategic overview to achieve a balance of staff hours and shift cover against predicted service demand within set financial limits. Undertake long term forecasting ensuring deployed resources match peak requirements. Conduct research into demand spikes and associated trends developing plans to mitigate against future performance drop. Coordinate the deployment of managers to stadia and events ensuring statutory requirements are met whilst minimising the impact on core resources. Ensure robust adherence from managers and departments to all area and localy based plans; including recovery plans where necessary. Monitor hospital based capacity issues and liaise with hospital managers in regard to both their in-patient and ED status. Deploy managers to acute departments to reduce the impact of ED breaches on the ambulance service and ameliorate ambulance turn round times; thus reducing job cycle time. Act as a point of instant access for both senior operational managers and vehicle based staff requiring immediate advice/decisions in the absence of locally based managers and advise all levels of management in regard to area based issues, ensuring actions undertaken locally do not result in a negative area based impact. Staff the area response car attending serious and major incidents as an on scene incident commander and attend 999 calls as an operational responder.
