Memphis Museum of Science and History (MoSH) Director of Satellite Properties – 2022-present Lichterman Nature Center Manager - 2000 to 2022Direct programs, operations and maintenance activities of a 65-acre living museum including demonstration gardens, trails, exhibits, plant propagation, and 40,000 square feet of multipurpose buildings for 22 years. Develop and administer dual municipal and 501(c)(3) (non-profit corporation) $750K operating budgets as well as foundation, state and federal grants. Responsibilities expanded in 2022 reorganization/leadership change to include Mallory-Neely House, Magevney House, and Coon Creek Science Center in addition to the Nature Center. Manage facility serving over 60,000 visitors each year through fee-based education programs, public events and facility rentals. Directed activities of 20 full and part time staff, as well as volunteers. Created educational programs such as Habitat Detectives large format outdoor education program, FloodCAP community capacity building program, OPTIONS summer high school biology camp, and Camp Lichterman.  Cultivate relationships with community partners including schools, Memphis Area Master Gardeners (named an honorary MAMG in 2013), garden clubs, senior centers and others develop and execute annual Plant Sales, Scarecrow Displays, EarthFest, and The Birds & Seeds – winter workshops and Seed Swap event Oversee husbandry, regulatory compliance and training of 51 species of animals used in exhibits and programs.  Direct propagation of 7,500 plants per year for education, onsite use, and sale. Plants represent about 250 species, many of which sourced from local germplasm by staff and volunteers. Responsible for initial and two subsequent Arboretum recertifications for Tennessee Urban Forestry Council, and Arb Net certification

Directed marketing, customer service, and operations for an independent testing laboratory serving pharmaceutical, agribusiness and nutrition industry clients on a contract basis. Prepared detailed marketing plans, budgets, technical reports, web site content, support documentation for personnel actions, promotional literature, and government and industry proposals. Responsible for the solicitation, support services, laboratory analysis, and documentation of chemical and microbiological testing services provided for over 35,000 samples per year. Complete management responsibility for 55 multidisciplinary professionals distributed through four constantly renovated buildings in a $3.5 million/year division of $12 million company. Reported directly to president/CEO.
