During this time I was employed by Birmingham City Council as an Environmental Health Officer where my duties include regulation of food, health & safety and public health law, health promotion work and education. I have a diploma in acoustics and over 7 years experience of noise investigation and enforcement from my previous roles in environmental regulation.

My main roles involved enforcing permits under the Pollution Prevention & Control Act 1999 and investigating noise complaints under the Environment Protection Act 1990. I also acted as an expert witness for the City Council on acoustics issues with a major involvement in planning application consultations and appeals.
