Assisting with the development of tools and applications to enable solicitors to work more efficiently.

• Designed, developed and maintained the Employer Duties Modeller, an online modelling tool designed to calculate the projected costs to clients in order to meet workplace pension legislation changes. This project was designed, developed and implemented to very tight timescales using a VB ASP.Net web application paired with a high performance, scalable, multithreaded VB.Net backend windows service and MS SQL server database. Active Directory was utilised for authentication and access controls.• Developed and maintained MyScheme, an externally hosted, public facing web application designed to allow clients pension scheme members to view up to date information relating to their pension schemes including investment and contribution histories, personal details, benefit statements and relevant scheme information booklets. MyScheme was developed in VB ASP.Net with an MS SQL server backend database.• Maintained and supported TRIM, an internal Time Recording and Invoice Management system. Designed to allow the business to accurately record and itemise costs relating to client related work. TRIM comprises of a C# web application and associated MS SQL database. MS integration services were utilised in order to extract and import data from old legacy systems. Enhanced the functionality to include sophisticated reporting features using MS reporting services to provide accurate and presentable billing information.• Designed, developed and maintained the Orbit Pricing Tool. This tool was designed to provide accurate, consistent implementation and licensing cost quotations for the Orbit Benefits package by utilising a structured, pricing model based on complexity, resources, expertise and man hours required. A tiered approach was employed using templates based on the complexity of the required implementation allowing for rapid production of quotations. The tool was developed in VB ASP.Net with a SQL server backend. All quotations were produced in PDF format.

• Developed and implemented real time core processing services for the NHS National Programme for IT. Using a combination of VB.Net, MSMQ, SQL, secure web services and XML these multi-threaded windows services form a key part of the iSoft existing systems solution and are responsible for the processing and synchronisation of patient appointment booking and cancellation data between the NHS national data spine and existing local Patient Administration Systems (PAS). The core processing service forms part of an N-Tier architecture developed to enable the new NPfIT Choose and Book application (CAB) to communicate with existing legacy patient administration systems.• Developed and implemented an area wide booking solution to allow GP’s to electronically refer patients to specialties. This project utilised an ASP web based front end to collate booking data and store it to the sites backend SQL database. This data was then extracted, encrypted and transferred to the relevant site across the NHSNet via a VB Service using MSMQ as the transport layer. The development of this project lasted approximately 18 months and included several major releases to add new functionality as requested by the users. • Developed and implemented various VB6 TCP/IP socket based HL7 interfaces to synchronise patient data between various third party theatre and lab based systems. These interfaces ensure that the patient data stored across the various hospital systems remains consistent. These PAS interfaces are currently in use at several NHS hospitals in the UK.• Developed and implemented a web based ward results application utilising a combination of VB6, ASP and SQL to allow rapid collection and consolidation of patient test result data.

• Developed and implemented the automatic generation of Claims quotations and accompanying letters from backend mainframe system to create work items for the company workflow system. Liased with users and business analysts to establish a functional design. Coded and implemented all necessary programs for both the ICL mainframe and client server environments using various programming languages. • Developed and implemented a workflow system for use in the Customer Management Centre as part of a small development team. This system provides an interface to all existing client server and mainframe systems within the company to present all relevant customer information to the Customer Management Centre staff.

• Analysed and coded all year 2000 compliance changes required to the mainframe Sales and Commission TP system. • Developed a remote booking Fact Find system for use on Field Staff Laptops. This system allowed field staff to electronically send fact find documents to either the branch office or head office for verification by management without the need to visit the office in person.• Assisted with the ongoing development and support of a Point of Sale system for use on Field Staff Laptops. This project entailed rapid development to ensure compliance with changing legislation and company product changes.

• Assisted with large rewrite of mainframe Sales and Commission system as a result of Sales force restructuring.• Developed and implemented an archiving strategy for the Sales and Commission mainframe system.• Coded and implemented an Outsourced Products suite to allow the processing of external files through our existing Sales and Commission system.• Provided general support, maintenance and call out cover for the Sales and Commission mainframe system
