Leading the enablement function of the GP Connect programme, with responsibility for the product management of the GP Connect: Access Record suite of products. GP Connect is a service that allows information and the GP Patient Record to be viewed and shared between IT systems. This means authorised clinical staff from different healthcare settings can share and view clinical information held by a GP Practice. This makes it easier and faster for patients to get healthcare services and gives them insight into how their data is being shared. The sharing of records is only for the purpose of direct care, where the patient is being treated or consulted in a setting away from their regular GP.This role involves a high level of stakeholder interaction, both within NHS England and across the healthcare sector; including suppliers, industry bodies and commissioning organisations.

Tasked with a challenging programme of work, responsible for enabling both prescribing and dispensing systems with the capability to prescribe and dispense Schedule 2&3 Controlled Drugs via the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). My second project is to deliver EPS into the Urgent Care sector as part of the winter preparedness programme of work. This work involves managing a complex set of requirements and working with a network of suppliers and stakeholders to develop the system capability and guide them through assurance to deliver a viable and clinically safe product. I lead and coordinate a multidiscipline team working within very tight timescales to plan and deliver the development and implementation workstreams of these projects, managing the NHS Digital assurance process in parallel for multiple systems, coordinating clinical and technical resources to guide systems development and assure the final product. I network with multiple stakeholders from within the NHS and from system supplier partners and engage with end users to ensure their needs are met by the project outputs. I am responsible for communicating and engaging with multiple stakeholders including pharmacy chains, industry bodies, individual users and other NHS organisations. The scope of my work includes planning for technical readiness, supporting business process change, allocating roles and responsibilities to my team and liaising with other internal departments to achieve key outcomes. The EPS Programme is very high profile and it is essential that I am aware of the strategic and politically sensitivities. I am required to identify and record risks and issues that may potentially affect the project delivery, escalating where appropriate, and to devise methods of mitigation, ensuring that these are successfully implemented.
