Clean and maintain enclosures, service areas, and holding facilities. Provide assistance with animal transfers and procedures. Treat zoo animals in accordance with instructions of the supervisor or zoo veterinarian. Demonstrate strength, agility, and coordination to safely net, capture, and restrain animals of extreme size, strength, and agility. Practice sufficient delicacy to handle, examine, rear, and move without harming sick, injured, or struggling small often neonatal animals. Provide assistance in construction and maintenance of animal enclosures and exhibit renovation. Drive motor vehicles safely on and off zoo grounds. Selected few to cross-train with mammal co-department and act as relief keeper when requested.Constantly exhibit a guest service attitude, providing great customer service with genuine interest in guest comfort ad service. Provide husbandry and interpretation of a large collection of terrestrial invertebrates, freshwater fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and small mammals. Demonstrate animal husbandry practices, nutrition and diets, record keeping, environmental enrichment, training, animal and species knowledge, animal handling, and interpretation. Provide assistance in maintenance of animal enclosures and exhibit renovation. Sea Otter Tracker Intern:Assist Sea Otter Research and Conservation (SORAC) staff with field observations and data collection of wild sea otters in the Monterey Peninsula, Elkhorn Slough, and Moss Landing areas of coastal California. Collect data in the field from shore and on a small boat using radio telemetry equipment and making visual observations with spotting scopes. Record re-sights, movement patterns, and forage activity budget data on marked individual wild sea otters. Observed and participated in animal surgeries and procedures including tagging.Sea Otter Care Intern:Assist Sea Otter Research and Conservation (SORAC) staff with the care and release of live-stranded sea otters. Provide daily care and feeding of ill, injured, and orphaned sea otters, maintenance and cleaning of animal tanks and enclosures, and computer data entry. Assist with rescues of live-stranded otters, tracking of released otters, administration of medication to sick otters, and managing otters in research projects.Sea Otter Exhibit Intern:Provide husbandry care of Monterey Bay Aquarium's Southern Sea Otter Collection. Participate in the overall maintenance of a variety of exhibits and enclosures, record keeping, training, medication, diet preparation, animal observations, and animal transports. Observed and participated in husbandry care of other species within the aquarium including Magellanic penguins.

Process sales through storefront, internet, and phone orders. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on the customers' pet's needs and desires. Restock the store, conduct inventory, and order necessary supply. Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, complete day sales' close-outs, and make deposits.

Sell tickets and act as primary contact with the public for all Arts and Lectures events. Provide phone and in-person customer service regarding shows, films and ticket sales. Use complex computer ticketing system requiring good judgment and detail skills. Resolve problems and answer questions.
