As a Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina, I work on two grant-funded projects that aim to promote health equity and information literacy in underserved communities. I collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community health workers, medical librarians, public librarians, and LGBTQ+ community leaders, to develop, deliver, and evaluate trainings and community forums that address the health information needs and challenges of communities in South Carolina and beyond.I am also a PhD candidate in the School of Information Science, with a certificate of graduate study in Health Communication. My dissertation focuses on the online sexual health information-seeking behaviors of young adults and how they are influenced by social and cultural factors. My research interests include health information-seeking behaviors, media literacy, health communication, and AI. I have published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. I am passionate about advancing knowledge and practice in the field of information science and advocating for open access to reliable health information and resources.
