• Responsible for designing and development of Cyclone Shelter Management and Maintenance Committee (CSMMC) and formation of Village Response Teams (VRT) for operation and maintenance of Multi-Purpose Cyclone Shelters (MPCS) in 11 coastal districts of Gujarat. • Implementation of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Program in all 33 districts of Gujarat with the team of 35 Project Officers stationed at District and Municipal Corporation level. Monitoring of monthly achievements made by Project Officers.• Regular monitoring and operation of five Regional Emergency Response Centers (ERCs) located at strategic locations of the State, which is equipped with trained manpower, vehicles and equipment to help the local administration during emergency.• Development of State Disaster Resource Network (SDRN), which acts as a repository of resources available from village to state level and these resources could be mobilized during the time of emergency.• Intensive field monitoring visits to observe the progress and technical guidance. • Development of various preparedness strategies covering awareness generation, training & capacity building and regular updates of Disaster Management Plan at various administrative levels. • Conduct training and capacity building programs for stakeholders involved in preparedness and mitigation of the state.
