I am the joint executive member for Finance, Performance, Major Projects, Human Rights, Equality and Inclusion, with responsibility for Human Rights, Equality and Inclusion.

I worked as a Mobilisation Assistant in a Battleground Seat during the General Election campaign. We were successful in overturning a 10,000 majority and getting a near 5,500 majority for the Labour candidate, a 16.5pt swing. During this campaign I helped arrange key visits with stakeholders from the shadow cabinet, community visits and the battle bus.

In this role, I ensured that the club has strong relationships with the CLP and local branch. At CLP and branch meetings I am one of the representatives of the club which I attend in various other capacities too. Since being involved in the club, I have strengthened relationships with the CLP. Student involvement in York Labour Party has significantly increased and I am proud to have have mobilised members at such a crucial time.

As Co-Chair, I co-run meetings of general members, committee meetings and any extra events that we host. I am particularly involved in campaigning as a council candidate and help coordinate that in our society. I am proud that, not only do we have a gender balanced committee, but also a gender balanced executive. We host events with trade unions, Members of Parliament, Councillors and many more. As Gender Liberation officer, I host a pre-meet which is a safe space for women and non-binary members.I am proud that our committee is gender balanced and that we encourage involvement from women and non-binary members.

In my role as office intern I help support the team primarily by; logging and replying to casework, responding to email campaigns and assisting the MP when needed. Thus far, I have found this role incredibly rewarding and have learnt lots of new skills such as using various parliamentary tools.

As a carer, I assisted in a range of ways depending on the patient’s needs. This could be in personal care or ensuring that their general health and well-being is as should be. I looked after those with mental health difficulties, those who are disabled and the elderly. I was MAR and Hoist trained. I found this role incredibly rewarding and has given me different experience of working. It has given me new skills which I would hope to take into future roles.

I am the Council Candidate for Hull Road Ward in York. This is for the 2023 Local Elections. I was elected on 05/05/2023 and I am now a councillor.
