During my Supply Chain Management Internship, I was given the opportunity to coordinate and manage the purchasing of materials and services. I learned first-hand the procurement process by leading my own RFP (Request for Proposal), step-by-step from conception through to purchase. In this process, I was in contact with multiple vendors evaluating their offers ensuring that they matched my business owner’s requirements. I reviewed and analyzed proposals to determine the source of the vendor, the competitiveness of the price offered, and confirmed they met the provided specifications. Through the strategic selection of vendors and negotiations, I was able to save ERCOT thousands of dollars.

I worked as an intern for the Project Management group at ERCOT. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the flow of electric power to 24 million Texas customers. My summer project focused on improving the efficiency of project management delivery. After analyzing the project reporting process flow, I identified potential bottlenecks and then designed and implemented an enhanced report process. I utilized Tableau software to create an interactive dashboard that helps inform upper management on the status of projects. At the end of the internship, I presented my results to the executives with the other group of 30 interns. From there, the top two projects/presentations were chosen and I got selected to present my project to the Board of Directors (link below-my presentation starts at 48:44). I was then offered a second internship for the Supply Chain Management group at ERCOT during the fall semester.
