Accompanied physician into patient rooms to analyze encounter and provide an accurate, detailed description for Electronic Medical Records, typed at ~90 WPM. Additionally documented patient recommendations by learning cardiology specific diseases and treatments, primarily heart failure. Ensured patient records were updated by reviewing active problems, past medical history, physical examination, and more. Trained new scribes on medical terminology, cardiac disease, cardiac testing, and Electronic Medical Records.

Interacted face-to-face with patients to evaluate vital signs, assessed reasons for clinical visit, distributed urine toxicity screening tests, and connected them with our in-house addiction counselor for approximately 200 patients per week.

Met and fostered a sense of trust and comfort with children and families affected by domestic abuse, both in extended shelter and weekly support group. Cared for the children of domestic abuse survivors by helping with homework, playing educational games, and teaching about anger management and related topics. Created a weekly lesson plan based on a 10-week curriculum centered around anger management and relationship building topics to be taught at a local youth shelter.

Aided over 10,000 new students and 5,000 family members to the University of Florida by facilitating 30 sessions of the Preview orientation program. Assisted with college schedule planning and registration, and presented information on student involvement, campus resources, and community expectations. Met one-on-one with over 170 first year students and created meaningful relationships to craft a first semester schedule that fit their academic, professional, and social goals. Provided individual support post-Preview to ensure the well-being of students in their transition to college.
