Senior member of joint unit, driving development phase of FCDO's Global Better Health Programme - a £70m ODA programme addressing the burden of NCDs and strengthening health systems across eight partner countries. - Strategic advice to FCDO on development of evaluation and programme design tools- Lead for South Africa and Myanmar, designing and scoping/technical missions, leading delegation, onboarding of health experts, technical discussions with senior MoH officials and other key stakeholders- Led framework and identification of priority areas for technical assistance, proposed interventions and budget- Design and oversight of plans to enable UK health expert input to tender/selection of implementing partners- Designed model for NHS partners to deliver costed technical assistance to country delegations and piloted during South African government visit to UK in March 2019

Global health adviser for Health Education England’s (HEE) international programmes, providing policy expertise, driving strategic thinking and design/delivery of high-profile programmes. - Led development of HEE’s first global strategy – created strategic framework and structure for new directorate, consulted external stakeholders, held sessions for staff to stimulate strategic thinking, developed narrative and case for change, finalised strategy for publication - Created ethical framework to guide decision making, planning and running of programmes - Led oversight of Myanmar UK Health Alliance and Uganda UK Health Alliance, advised country teams on development of strategic and programme plans. Management of budget and consultants- Secured funding and led design of British Council funded nurse leadership programme in West Bengal- Advised on development of strategic relationships with key partners and led development of MoUs

Management/oversight of national Commission on Education and Training for Patient Safety and lead author of Commission report 'Improving Safety through Education and Training'

Commissioned by Healthwatch England to review patient engagement policy and practice in England. Drafted paper outlining context and strategic options for discussion with leadership.

Set up a national inquiry into experiences of marginalised groups moving from and between health and social care facilities. Design of inquiry, stakeholder engagement including with marginalised groups, running focus groups, oversight of project management and lead report author.

Management of Gates funded mHealth intervention pilot study in Karnataka, India, empowering mothers to improve health-seeking behaviour in the immediate postpartum period. Led study design, ethics approval, monitoring of progress, management of multiple in-country partners, reporting outcomes and development of final donor report.

Technical support and project management of WHO’s global patient advocacy network. Working with patients, health workers and policy-makers in 51 countries worldwide to improve patient safety and quality of care through collaboration. - Led design and launch of WHO’s first patient safety advocacy network in Africa, bringing together communities, government officials and health workers across eight countries. - Represented WHO at technical meetings and conferences around the world with senior experts and government officials, presenting, sitting on panels and running sessions on patient and community engagement- Supported conceptual development and planning of maternal health research study, mCheck. - Led communications including delivery of webinars to hundreds of participants, website upgrade, regular newsletters, developed communications strategy and drafted four-year strategic plan.- Chapter co-author.
