At Heritage Action, I assist with state lobbying activity by coordinating with policy experts, tracking legislation, and supporting a regional team of 10 state lobbyists. I manage the writing and production of Heritage Action’s weekly strategy call reaching 7,000 listeners monthly. In my current role, I also research and summarize state legislation on topics related, but not limited to: education freedom, China, Critical Race Theory, gender-related legislation, and Environmental Social Governance. Additionally, I have organized and attended 100+ grassroots events and conferences.

As a Research Assistant, I independently edited 100+ pages of Dr. Scott Baker’s manuscript “Echoes of Equality: The Politics of Education in North Carolina from Brown to No Child Left Behind” by providing technical writing support and contributing original opinions. Additionally, I researched and analyzed legal sources to prepare briefs and summaries of applicable state and federal rulings.

As a Resident Advisor, I worked to foster secure, comfortable, inclusive, and engaging learning communities to prepare residents to lead lives of meaning and purpose. I oversaw the safety and security of 32 residents. Through this role, I gained experience mediating and providing conflict resolution in a professional and timely manner; I acted as a first responder in several emergency situations which required calling Emergency Medical Services; I facilitated community participation in campus-wide events and 13+ community programs per semester; I prepared monthly operating budgets and financial statements used by Campus Residential Life Staff.

In my role as a Summer Camp Counselor, I led and worked alongside a group of counselors in the delivery of arts, crafts, and athletic curricula for 60+ preschool aged children. I consistently communicated with parents to report on camper behavior, social, and developmental progress, as well as note any observed health conditions. I implemented multiple musical and arts-related activities that improved campers' creative skills as well as increased learning motivation.

In my role as an After School Educator, I focused on implementing a daily curriculum the sparked imagination, built self-esteem, and helped children ages K-5th discover new things everyday. In addition to providing after-school tutoring to 40+ students across a range of subjects and academic levels, my team and I initiated and supervised organized sports and games for program attendees. I also developed and coordinated field trips for students, established literary and arithmetic competence to students, and provided additional support when needed, helping a total of five students with learning difficulties to achieve basic aptitude.
