Overall responsibility for the provision of financial, personnel, recruitment and administrative support to the Centre for Market and Public Organisation (CMPO), a research department within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law. This includes a portfolio of research grants, budgets and PhD studentships.

Temporary position, collating research outcomes and maintaining the research database.

Conducted Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessments (CAPA) with parents regarding their child with a genetic disorder. Used DSM-IV and ICD-10 to make research diagnoses of depression, anxiety, phobias, and other mental health issues that affect the general population. Administered IQ and neuro-psychological assessments to children with a genetic disorder, who often had a learning difficulty, concentration and attention difficulties, and autistic traits. Liaised with genetics clinics to recruit participants. Wrote substantial amendments and submitted to the Research Ethics Committee.

Project Worker – I worked for a year each on two consecutive projects: 1) Schools Project: Worked collaboratively with families to positively improve their child’s behaviour at school and effect change. Did 1:1 sessions with children at school to help with managing encopresis, Tourettes syndrome, autism.2) NHS Participation Project - helped to set up systems to encourage vulnerable patients to access NHS services.

I carried out clinical psychological work with young people aged 10-16 years to help with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. I conducted an initial mental health screen and made referrals to appropriate departments. I supported young people to discuss issues such as sexual abuse and their offending. I attended MDT meetings. I worked under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and also worked closely with psychiatrists and other agencies.

Shepton Mallet, Somerset, Uk

Facilitated on six-month long cognitive-behavioural Sex Offender treatment programmes with life sentenced male prisoners. I was awarded 'primary status' so could make clinical decisions on behalf of facilitating team. I wrote reports on suitability of release of offender for oral hearings. Initially a facilitator, I was promoted to be Treatment Manager of a group programme to address offending behaviour.
