My work as a Designer at Cambridge Clothing has encompassed approximately 4 years designing in full, the Winter and Summer collections for Peter Jacksons Menswear label. Updating their stock service lines, monitoring block updates and designing new garments/styles. During this timeover the last year and a half, I have co-designed with our Design Manager the 4 brands under the Cambridge Clothing Ltd umbrella: Dom Bagnato, Cambridge, Joe Black and Gibson. All of which are sold wholesale across Australia and New Zealand in tandem with standalone retail stores and also sold into 2 of the major department stores in Australia; David Jones and Myer.Tasks including: 1. Seasonal research and briefs for inhouse brands & Peter Jacksons Menswear2. Design and development of seasonal and stock service ranges to brief and according to brands individual identity for inhouse brands & Peter Jacksons Menswear3. Make selections and sourcing Fabric and trims, developing where necessary - maintaining a good working relationship with mills to maintain best costings.4. Garment Design and Development: - To produce a garment that meets both fitting and stylistic requirements, and can be manufactured to specification , minimum and cost requirements.5. Developing trims (jacquard logo lining/printed linings), accessories such as Lapel pins, specialty coat hangers and garment bags, tickets and labels

Creating seasonal collections Stock service developments and block updates.Ordering sampling from Chinese and Italian/european mills for suiting/shirting and developing cloths to bring the costs inline with the OTB. Approving strike offs.Creating all brands range plans and allocating/setting up cloth codes and product codes using AP21 - then making sure the sample ranges all arrive on-time from the makers for our seasonal range releases.Trimming all brands and creating trim files and import specification illustrations using Illustrator, graphic art work for seasonal booklets using indesign. I also have set up and maintain a photostudio setup for photographing product - mostly key looks for sellingtools and for Myer/David Jones Catalogues and for our online sales platforms photshopping the product using Photoshop.Contract Designwork for key client in Melbourne is a major part of my role, which includes design development, initial selections for seaonal collections, cloth developments and liasing with makers/Mills for highlight products and creating new trims. In this role I have to keep up with the industry, so always knowing what is happening worldwide and locally in business, retail and in trends - keeping a rolling knowledge/understanding of the trends and how they impact or are conceptualised for different markets and also connecting these trends which helps in realising what will be important and what to place value on when presenting ranges.

Maintain range plans for rolling delivery of new accessories to fit in the fortnightly drops. for a number of Australian and international brands Dotti/Kookai/ Creating merchandising briefs which were sent to all stores (for Dotti label) to co-inside with the fortnightly drops.Developing fashion jewellery, bags and soft accessories from overseas samples then following the process through to our overseas suppliers, negotiating the best unit price/volume and working out the best wholesale/retail prices to meet the specified margin. And then managing the delivery meets the delivery timelines.Running detailed weekly sales reports for Dotti label - sent directly to the Just Group.
