I am a Winona State graduate with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Communication. Psychology has been a long passion of mine due to personal experiences and the desire to learn why people are who they are. I aspire to become a person who positively impacts everyone I meet, and to live life passionately seeking new opportunities to grow and change as an individual. Throughout my experience as an undergrad, I immersed myself in classes that both challenged and inspired me. I have experience working in an inpatient setting with children and adolescents as a Psychiatric Technician focusing on stabilization and saftey. I have experience in a day treatment setting as a Children's Mental Health Practitioner creating lesson plans and teaching CTSS social skills to elementary aged children. I also have experience in an administrative setting as a Medication Management Assistant working with nurse practitioners and psychiatrists. My future goals are to apply to a master’s program and continue working in the mental health field to make even more of an impact. Once I complete my further education and graduate with my master’s degree, I plan on getting my licensure as an LPCC and work as a therapist for adolescents and young adults. I hope to be able to use my past experiences, and my education, to provide aid and support to people in their mental health journey. I have always said if I can just help one person, that will make my personal experiences all worthwhile.
