I run my own therapeutic counselling practice and work as a counsellor at Mind. I work with adults with specific issues or in life transitions, on both a short-term and open-ended basis.I am also an experienced policy analyst and organisational leader, currently working on a freelance basis, in the fields of international development, social and economic policy. I have held the posts of Head of Policy at ActionAid UK and Head of Campaigns at Shelter. Clients for my consultancy work have included Malala Fund, UNICEF, One Campaign, Tax Justice Network and Local Trust.I am particularly interested in the meeting points between psychology and mental health, and socioeconomic policy, and in research and analysis that draws on these cross-disciplinary connections. For my MA in psychotherapy I am currently researching the lived experience of psychotherapy clients during times of political turmoil.I have experience and knowledge on a wide range of international and domestic economic and social issues. I have also previously specialised in health policy issues, utilising my earlier experience as a medical doctor. I am an excellent writer, editor and facilitator.I worked for several years in a highly successful job-share, and am able to use this experience to advise on flexible working.
