While the tasks could be repetitive, the look on a patron's face when I could provide them the technology to access information freely, was rewarding. Here I expanded my skillset by training new hires and keeping up with ever-changing policies.I relocated to Georgia a few years later and was faced with a new library experience: a private library. The policies and procedures differed in a way from the public library that I previously worked with, but the tasks remained familiar to me. I was able to collaborate with the children's librarian in creating displays each month. She taught me a great deal in regards to equity and equality within the library and in the way we offered services to each individual patron. I was able to provide social media knowledge and experience and was entrusted with managing the library's social media account.For the past few years, I have been a stay at home mom, rounding out my skills in kissing ouchies and making "the best" sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. I introduced my children to the library when they were young and seeing their excitement and passion for books grow is very fulfilling. I was ecstatic when I visited our home library with my children and they had a brand-new self-checkout station. The circulation clerk came over to me to show up how to use it. I was enamored with how far library technology has come.I am eager to return to an environment that harbors learning. To provide access to technology and information equitably is the highest reward.
