Cultivated and managed strategic partnerships with state, county and community-based health and early childhood education leaders to maximize systems alignment; engaged almost 1,500 individuals by facilitating various community engagement activities grounded in racial equity to inform system recommendations; established deliverable timelines by managing multiple subcontractors and external stakeholders; and designed and reported on evaluation measures to demonstrate impact.Designing a system of child care health consultation to alleviates race- and place-based inequities in King County. Child care health consultation (CCHC) is a strategy that promotes the health and development of children, and supports families, and child care providers and caregivers as they ensure healthy, safe, and supportive early learning environments. In 2018, Kindering received grant funding from King County Best Starts for Kids (BSK) to gather partners and consider ways to develop a system that supports the work of child care health consultation. At Kindering, we have been engaging in community conversations that provide information from all levels of systems, including the voices of families, early learning services and providers, and caregivers of young children. The input from participants will result in recommendations to develop accessible, inclusive, culturally and linguistically responsive, and effective system of CCHC in King County, and strengthen the larger early learning systems of which CCHC is a part.
