Researching the history of The Croft, a Nottingham-based shared housing scheme for unsupported mothers and their babies, during the 1960s and 1970s. Acting as an advocate for the project on Radio Nottingham and writing articles for Nottinghamshire Live to create awareness and encourage former Croft residents to make contact and share their memories. Recording in-depth oral histories of over a dozen women who lived at The Croft, plus its founder, Ruth I. Johns.Playing the part of a young mother in a film made to promote the project.Helping to showcase these memories via Now Heritage’s website and in an exhibition at Nottingham Castle.

Researching the history of the stately home Wortley Hall and its surrounding area.Writing plays to reflect different periods in the hall’s history.Supporting the project lead to facilitate drama workshops, developing the plays with local Year 5 and Year 9 pupils.Playing the violin to accompany sell-out performances of the plays which took place in a promenade style at Wortley Hall to mark its 60th anniversary as a member of the co-operative union.
