My policy portfolio included: Inequality, low carbon development pathways and poverty alleviation strategies. Key responsibilities included:• Co-leading a team of four (including two consultants) to deliver a new research report for Tearfund.• Managing interns to deliver research reports and ensure their personal development• Project managing a research package involving working cross culturally with partners and allies in Brazil.• Producing research reports, briefings and policy positions.

The Global Volunteering Team aims to make poverty personal in order to activate and inspire change in our volunteers and in their spheres of influence. Key responsibilities include:● Communicating with national partners based in countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America to organise budgets, logistics and itineraries for over 150 volunteers a year.● Providing Spanish translation between the Global Volunteering team and our South American partners. ● Communicating between multiple stakeholders: volunteers, parents, mentors and partners to ensure excellent organisation of trips and pastoral care of volunteers from application to training to debrief. ● Events management: I run multiple events each year ranging from one to five day durations for up to 130 people.

Key responsibilities included:● Offered secondment through showing initiative to design, plan and deliver Tearfund’s first Economics course in my own time, which I received an internal recognition award for.● Writing background papers to synthesise and analyse research critiquing the current economic system. ● Researching feasible economic alternatives to the current model, to inform the strategic direction of Tearfund's advocacy work.● Co-drafting, producing and finalising a FAQs document to provide the policy basis for media responses.

Teach First is an independent charity seeking to tackle educational disadvantage across the UK. I worked as a Brand Manager to help to recruit the 2012 cohort of graduates and engage Leeds students with Teach First. Key responsibilities included:● Raising brand awareness: taking ideas from concept to completion whilst working remotely from my manager, in order to raise the profile of Teach First. I was responsible for event management aimed at our target audience; Science and Maths students. Additionally I designed and ran numerous promotional stands.● Achieving recruitment targets: I helped our team to exceed our recruitment targets by 30%.

Tearfund is international development agency working in over fifty developing countries. Transform is the part of Tearfund that organises trips to enable volunteers to work with a Tearfund partner overseas.

I communicated with high value donors and helped to organise the annual ‘Ambassadors’ conference at which HRH Princess Anne attended.

This role developed my creativity and public speaking in order to maintain the interest and further the language ability of a class of teenagers from all over the world.
