Chief Executive Officer for Make Some Noise, bringing 15 years of community arts and music experience to Make Some Noise. Make Some Noise was originally a Youth Music Action Zone, which worked collaboratively with 2 music services, 3 cultural organisations. In 2009, Make Some Noise moved out of local authority control to become an independent company and charity.I continuously advocate the power of music and its ability to impact third sector community services, local authorities and music sector organisations. I strongly believe that all children can benefit personally, socially and educationally from music, and therefore music-making opportunities must be made available to the most disaffected and disadvantaged members of society. I'm involved in wide-ranging consortiums and partnerships working on various development projects (some award-winning) including:- An Early Years Fundraising Strategy with all the West Midlands Music Education Hubs (securing funding for innovative regional provision)- The Musical Communities Consortium (Youth Music’s strategic funding for the Federation of North West Music Education Hubs)- Working farther afield with community music sector colleagues in London, Manchester and Cornwall.Between 2014 & 2017 I was on the Board of Trustees for Music Mark - Membership organisation, music subject association and charity. Recently, in 2015 I became a Fellow for the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and in 2016 was invited to join the Experiential Learning Leadership Academy supporting leaders of small to medium sized charities.
