Supelec is one of the famous high French schools for engineers.I designed a new information system to manage both the cursus and the scolarship of the students. With a small team we developed this system mainly with Oracle tools.This software is changing constantly because of new needs and new users.Web technologies are used in complement to offer a set of functionalities to students to see their files, their results or apply for a course.I designed and developed also the software to handle the research contracts, with Oracle database and development tools.For these tasks I have to interact with every person in Supelec. It is a technical job, as well as an organisation task.

The project is handled by IBM for the French shipping company CMA-CGM. It is a reingeneering project on the core application of the shipping business. This application is Oracle based and developed with several tools, but mostly Oracle Forms and Reports. It is used by as many as 5000 simultaneous users worldwide, with a growing trend up to 10000 users in 2 years time. The project focuses on improving the performance of the existing code and architecture in order to be able to handle this growth.During these 2,5 years I acted as:- a data modeling expert to audit the existing data model, provide recomendations for changes and for administration of the model, design of the data model changes for the new business requirements- an Oracle expert for the architecture and the tuning of the application and for writing technical specifications. I interacted daily with the development team in Dubaï- a functional expert: writing functional specifications and test books, following the test campaigns, interacting with the testers and the users

Depending upon the number of equipments, number of data collected and retention period, the database size may reach several TB.My job involved architecture of the database, auditing and tuning, defining high availability architecture, defining Disaster Recovery Plan and writing technical documentations.
