I am the senior vice president, communications & external affairs (C&EA) for the Asia Pacific region. Together with my leadership team, I am accountable for enhancing bp's reputation and creating value for its business in the region, which includes India, China, Australia & NZ, Indonesia and other countries in and around Singapore. In C&EA we engage with leaders across government, regulators, media, think-tanks, investors and communities to influence and build opinion around issues critical for the energy industry, including "reimagining energy" for the future. Prior to this role, I was leading the C&EA team in India. I am a mechanical engineer with 31 years of work experience across sales and marketing, business development, strategy and planning, knowledge management, ethics and compliance, human resources and safety, both in India and the U.K. Prior to joining BP, I worked with Larsen & Toubro. I am a director on the board of the BP Foundation Inc., US. I am also on the Indian advisory board of the confederation of British industry.
