Working as part of a small team designing and producing AutoCAD drawings for local authority housing refurbishment work. This includes producing AutoCAD layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, gas heating, quantum heating and PV upgrades along with full roof, porch roof and dormer upgrade and refurbishment work. I liaise with various contractors and surveyors and this role has advanced my knowledge in terms of regulations and the onsite practicalities of producing the designs.Completed drawings are then submitted for costing and then uploaded to Conject for approval by Aberdeenshire Council. I have a first time pass rate of 98%, which shows a high attention to detail and compliance with the clients’ needs.In addition to this, I am also responsible for preparing and submitting planning and warrant applications for upgrades where required. These more in-depth works include liaising with external contractors and suppliers on structural and material specifications to produce compliant and cost-effective designs for the client.

Throughout the transition from Caledyne to BHGE, I have been responsible for the updating and rebranding of the Caledyne tools into the BHGE branding. This has included tool data sheets, marketing sheets and other documents. I have also been responsible for updating and creating new tool animations to fit in with the new brand guidelines set by BHGE . This role has helped me build on my communication skills as I am now part of a much larger company and am required to liaise and collaborate with different departments across the globe.

At Caledyne, I worked as part of the Applications Group and was responsible for creating technical 2D drawings and 3D models in ProEngineer, for concept work undertaken by the team. I was also responsible for the creation of animations in Keyshot for client meetings to demonstrate how our tools functioned. These animations and many 3D renderings I created where used across various platforms to promote the Caledyne tools. This included on our website, which I was responsible for updating through the Craft portal; pop up banners, which I created in the Adobe creative suite for trade shows; the company's Offshore Europe stand which I designed and all our booklets. In this role, I gained experience working with ProEngineer (3D software package); DDM (models and drawings database); KeyShot (3D rendering of tools and basic animations); Blender (animations, videos and 3D renderings). I also gained knowledge around working with corporate clients in an Oil & Gas environment, and various vendors such as printing companies.

Working as part of a small team I reported directly to the senior architect and produced detail 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Google Sketchup. These drawings and models were used as part of client meetings to present concepts in a clear manner, all the way through to planning and building warrant applications submitted to local authorities. Other responsibilities included site surveys for clients under the supervision of the architect and preparation of planning and building warrant applications.As part of this employment I also undertook some hands on building experience.
