My name is Anthony Anderson, and I am a senior at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) in Buckhannon, West Virginia. In this coming May (2023), I will earn a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts with a minor in Communications.I want to expand my skillset and gain specialized knowledge in an area which encompasses my creative arts, design, business skills, and develop a network of industry professionals. Additionally, I want to learn and prepare myself for professional career opportunities in the field of digital multi-marketing. . I am originally from Baltimore; Maryland and I came to WVWC on a partial academic and athletic scholarship. Since I was five years old, I have always enjoyed doing art. For many years, drawing has been my primary art medium. Over time, I have worked with various art mediums, where I expanded by knowledge to computer aided design tools such as Adobe software as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. I worked closely with my advisor at WVWC, I decided to integrate a communication minor into my graphic design major because art is a powerful form of communication. To me, the art and communication connection is perfect with each other. It tells a particular story through the graphic designer’s eyes literally and metaphorically Through my undergraduate internships as well as job shadowing and studying career profiles, I learned many things about my skills and abilities. I enjoy not only the technical aspects of creating and designing, but I also enjoy project management and seeing design process from start to finish. In my internship at Premier Enterprise Media Services Corporation, I completed several design projects as a co-leader on the project design team (reference your portfolio). I also utilized my communication skills talking with customers at the design phase and throughout the project implementation.
