Worked on an IT strategy project for the R&D division of a large chemical company. Developed a process to integrate R&D IT processes with the larger IT organization.

Primary support and lead developer for the ETL programs of a second data warehouse, developed entirely in SQL and PL/SQL. Was responsible for enhancements, defect repair, and oversight of several offshore developers on the project.2nd Data Center Move (4/17 - 12/17): Worked with local DBA team to move the app to a new platform in a new data center, which included assistance in configuring the Oracle listener due to specific app requirements, a full suite of testing.

Delaware

Began a new role to support a major agricultural client's R&D data warehouse. Was responsible for the ETL programs of that data warehouse which was part DataStage, and part PL/SQL. Delivered enhancements to support new data from source systems, repairing many defects that remained after the initial build of the DW. Oversaw several offshore developers from the Philippines, then India in that support work.DataStage Removal (2/15-12/15): Lead a project on a data warehouse I support to remove the DataStage ETL tool and replace it with PL/SQL programs. Oversaw the work of one offshore developer to do that work, providing technical expertise, requirements, testing support.

As a former DBA I focused on improving security of the applications on the team, including the two I supported as application lead. Improved security regarding accounts, passwords, roles, and application code. Created several new reports that leveraged Oracle's auditing capabilities to help the team identify issues and prepare for account maintenance tasks.

Was lead DBA of the local site, and held these responsibilities:Backups, account maintenance, and requests from the support team for all applications at the site.Performed regular DV and QA refreshes for the team from Production databases, which acted as recovery tests.Performed Oracle 10g database upgrades across 10 applications.Investigated performance issues across several applications, focused primarily around repairing query mis-optimizations and data loading performance techniques.Team thought leader on various Oracle issues and best practices. This was focused on data loading techniques and security.Data Center move (3/14 - 12/14): On this project I was the database administrator of the source systems of a data center move. I provided backups of the application databases and technical expertise about those applications to the destination DBAs.In this work I was both the DBA and the App Lead for the two data warehouses I supported. I provided planning and expertise on how to move the databases to the destination and listener configuration.

Delaware

Was the lead tester of a data migration work to a new application. Built test scripts and test queries for this work. Worked with the lead ETL architect to review requirements, defects found, and fixes.

Client/Server programmer with (primarily) the PowerBuilder tool. Performed some Visual basic work.
