Coordinate and assess of all University Commencement Ceremonies and Honors Convocation with the assistance of the campus wide committee for over 11,000 graduating students annually. Assist with the management of ~$750K budget for commencement related programing.Responsible for the training and supervision of a fulltime staff member and student assistant.Oversight of the training of 200+ professional staff and student volunteers for commencement related activities. Draft and send correspondences to graduating students, families, and the campus community. Oversee a ~$35K educational resource program that provides an opportunity for students and faculty to discuss cultural issues, encouraging a link between classroom learning, and our culturally diverse city of Los Angeles.Coordinate New Student Convocation and President’s Picnic to support the New Student Orientation Program efforts. Maintain the University webpages for programs I coordinate through the web-one interface.

Provided pre-admission counseling to all prospective undergraduate students and assisted with the targeted recruitment of Black undergraduate students to help the University meet it's enrollment goals. Additionally, assisted in the coordination of department wide programs that included the campus preview day and other pipeline programs that targeted, Black students, honors students, and elementary school students.

Under general supervision of the Assistant Director for New Student Programs, this position is responsible for assisting with professional-level student services work to assist with the annual planning and execution of the University's transition programs which serve over 35,000 students and their guests annually. Programs include: The two-day "Gradfest!", Honors Convocation, four Commencement Ceremonies, and the Discover, Inquire and Grow in Los Angeles (DIG LA) program. Provides support in helping to plan University orientation programs for freshmen, transfer, International Student, and Parent Day programs. This includes providing high levels of support to recruit, identify, train, assess and supervise a diverse staff of student paraprofessionals and 150+ student volunteers. Position duties include in the execution of the following: creates committee agendas and reports; facilitates subcommittees; coordinates communications with key campus personnel including the executive leadership, Deans, Physical Plant Management, and Department of Police/Parking Services efforts as well as Bookstore/University Corporation, Admissions/Records and Campus Instructional Media Services; assists with the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of a diverse group of student paraprofessionals (six) and volunteers (150+).
