Matalan Direct (direct.matalan.co.uk) is an eCommerce subsidiary of Matalan, which launched in 2015 as a new online-only venture into the homeware market. Capitalising on Matalan’s 12.5 million existing customer database, Matalan Direct is challenging established online homeware retailers, such as B&Q, Dunelm and HomeSense. Responsibilities: · Establishing Matalan Direct’s Marketplace Channel from scratch, with complete ownership and autonomy.· Defining and executing an innovative, market-leading marketplace strategy with direct account level support from Account Managers at eBay and Amazon.· Sourcing and managing the relationship with key third party suppliers, such as ChannelAdvisor, a best-in-class Marketplace and eCommerce optimisation platform.· Selecting new product bundles, with full ownership of new product strategies, pricing, promotional activities and shipping.· Collaborating with PPC, Email Marketing teams to devise and execute cross-channel promotional activities.· Working with the Head of Paid Media, contributing to PPC campaigns and assisting the PPC team during busy periods.· Working with Copywriters and Content Managers to develop new SEO-rich content for Amazon and eBay, ensuring the content is on-brand, delivering the correct messages and in-line with the brand communication strategies.· Reporting on the performance of the marketplace channel to key stakeholders on the Matalan Direct board, including the Chief Marketing Officer.· Using channel analysis and insight to improve marketplace performance and drive sales.· Training a new Customer Service Team on Marketplace, ensuring key service levels were communicated and adhered to.· Working with the in-house Front-end and Back-End Developers on various cross-channel projects.
