About Anthony Durkin
I am a recent graduate from the College of Wooster with a B.A. in Sociology, looking for roles in helping adolescents, especially juvenile delinquents. I have recently finished a year long Independent Study (I.S) research thesis that involved the effectiveness of correctional programs for ex-offenders and their likelihood on gaining employment upon reentry. I am mainly interested in working with adolescents providing them with the skills they need to make better choices.I have taken many classes involving deviance and criminology, and have volunteered for the Village Network, a boys detention center for sexual offenders in Wooster, Ohio. I am certified in CPR and Crisis Prevention training. I would love to put my experience in this field to good use and make a difference for troubled youth who are in need of a role model.

Youngstown Early Intervention Program Camp Counselor
I have been a camp counselor for students from the Youngstown, Ohio area beginning their incoming freshman year until they are rising seniors. This program allows them to further their knowledge on the college atmosphere, as well as give them the opportunity to visit three different colleges every year for the four years they are involved with the program. I was in charge of ensuring the children in the program are up for breakfast, walking them to class, lunch and dinner. I also was in charge of making sure that I knew what their homework assignments from class were, as well as helping them with whatever problems and issues they were dealing with. I have been a participant with this two-week camp for the past 3 years now, and I hope to continue doing it until they graduate for high school in 2017.
