Assisting our clients in raising capital (debt and hybrids) to deliver on growth opportunities (M&A), succession events or to minimise interest costs and/or improve terms and conditions via a refinance of their debt facilities. Our team has strong relationships with banks and alternative capital providers (credit funds, super funds and family offices) and can quickly evaluate and source the best funding solution to solve any funding requirement.

Research, analyse and assemble due diligence, pitches, information memorandum, related documents and presentations to assist M&A Partners with the assessment, structuring, execution and completion of a wide range of advisory transactions, under significant time and volume pressures.Transactional experience includes providing advice / managing processes for corporates and SME businesses in regards to capital raising & restructuring, divestments and acquisitions.

As the private equity arm of nab, the team mandate was to invest equity into SME businesses to fund expansion opportunities (both organic and acquisitive) and enable succession related events (MBO, MBI and replacement capital). Opportunities of focus included established companies with strong track records seeking an investment of between $5m to $30m of equity or hybrid equity.My key roles included building valuation models, conducting due diligence on targets and their associated industries and writing Investment Papers.Other tasks undertaken were: portfolio management; screening opportunities; developing due diligence scopes (financial and legal); drafting term sheets; reviewing documentation and managing stakeholders (bankers, Investment Committee members, target management teams and due diligence providers).

ANZ PE had a very similar mandate to nab until the team was restructured and ordered to divest the portfolio. I was fortunate to have worked on a successful deal prior to this event. I was then heavily involved in portfolio management and developing exit strategies before moving to nab.

This role involved conducting credit analysis, building financial models and writing Credit Papers to provide Senior Debt funding packages to support private equity and ANZ Corporate Bank customer transactions. Transactions involved customers with turnovers ranging between $20m to $250m across a wide range of industries. The types of transactions I worked on included acquisitions, roll-up strategies, MBO, MBI and recapitalisations.My analysis focused on assessing: debt quantums; capital structures; the company’s ability to service the debt load (cash flow modelling and covenant structure analysis); pricing; comparable industry metrics; management team quality and other credit principles. I was also involved in structuring transactions, drafting term sheets and reviewing final documentation.
