Anthony Bernard Johnson, Jr. has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, recognized for over two decades of excellence in music education and ministry. As a dedicated educator, he has spent the last 10 years at KIPP D.C. Public Schools, where he infuses music, theater, and drama into his teaching for grades 1-4. His commitment to student success and passion for the arts have been instrumental in shaping his students’ growth.Before joining KIPP DC, Mr. Johnson taught at Perry Street Prep from 2011-2014. Alongside his teaching career, he has served as a wedding consultant for The Ministry For You LLC since 2012, officiating over 40 weddings in multiple states, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also been the music minister at Courts of Praise Christian Church since 2008.Mr. Johnson’s earlier roles include serving as a music minister at Christ Church Way of the Cross (2019-2021), and as a musician at Galilee Baptist Church and Corinthian Baptist Church. As a clinician and workshop facilitator for youth in the early 2000s, he helped young musicians and singers cultivate their God-given talents.He holds a degree in Human Services, Education, and Public Policy from the University of Delaware, with a concentration in Education and Community Services, and a master’s degree in Christian Studies from Faith Christian University. He has earned certifications in pastoral counseling from the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a certified counselor through the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors.In addition to his work in education, Mr. Johnson has taken on leadership roles within Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as Associate Area Director. He is also the Provost at Revealing Joshua Life Academy and Vice President of the Board of Directors for Positive Outlook Guidance Services. He is associated with the Bearded Santa Association and IBRDS.Mr. Johnson was named Teacher of the Year by KIPP DC Public Schools in 2023. As he looks to the future, he aims to transition into roles as a higher-education counselor or advisor, while also turning his side ventures into full-time pursuits, combining his passion for education and ministry with new opportunities.
