This is a multi-dimensional role, covering several aspects in the department. I have worked on every step of the process, from booking in raw material to the warehouse, to shipping out completed goods. The main part of my role is the providing of raw materials to the clean rooms to allow them to produce their own products, as well as providing indirect materials needed in the rooms, such as gloves and cleaning equipment. These requests are sent to us through an interactive tracker, email chains, phone conversations, and face to face with our customers in the rooms. My role makes extensive use of Oracle systems to track, transfer and audit materials in our stocks. While working on the shipping part of the process, I made use of Excel to track all goods leaving the site. I have also had the opportunity to learn to use two different types of forklift truck in the time I have worked in the Logistics department.

During my time as a Production Operator, I was trained in the use of several machines on the shop floor. I was made the primary operator of one of the mainline machines early on in my two years in the department.
